Exhibition launch – Scratch The Surface

The Scratch The Surface Exhibition was officially launched at Artspace Whitehorse at the Box Hill Town Hall last Thursday night.  The gallery’s Senior Curator Jacquie Nicols-Reeves welcomed the crowd of enthusiastic art lovers whilst Counsellor Carr opened proceedings. Good buddy and talented performer Mick Thomas followed then with his own kind words and a beaut version of his song Away, Away – which contained the title of my exhibition.  It was a great opportunity for me to be able to thank many of my friends and supporters.  Seeing my work displayed in such a beautiful way by Jacquie and her staff at Artspace was indeed a real thrill.  Thanks to all who attended on a night of rain and traffic chaos!  The exhibition continues until 30 April at the Box Hill Town Hall.  Check out some of the photos from the night in the Gallery section of this site.  Photographs taken by my daughter Meg.
